IBVA 1.8

The IBVA version 1.8.x software is the original IBVA software supplied with systems since the early 1990's. It runs on all older Apple Macs eg; 68k pre Power Mac generations. This software is not sold with IBVA systems any longer but can be supplied upon request.

IBVA 1.8 uses FFT to generate the quickly rendered various 32 bit Quick Draw modes, wire frames and shaded frames. It communicates with Apple Midi manager and QT MIDI versions 2.5 -4.0 , and has sound dialogue menu to address internal Midi sounds. It can also communicate with Director using Patchbay control panel, and be linked to another computer.

It has minimal RAM and CPU requirements - 1 Meg memory is required for 256 colours. If 5 Megs available then 16 bit video mode produces 65,000 colours.

You can still run 1.8 even if you are a Mac OS 8.x, 9.x or OS X user, it opens in classic mode. This requires a custom set of System extensions, removing all modem, printer, fax and coms port that can interfere. You need a driver installed for the USB-Serial converter used to connect IBVA to the computer.
